The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group on Monday released pictures of the execution of 13 men described as anti-jihadist Sunni tribal fighters near the northern city of Tikrit.
The men who were executed were members of an anti-ISIS group of Sunni tribal fighters known as the Knights of Al-Alam who were captured by jihadists in Tikrit and Al-Alam around 10 days earlier.
"I knew that to stay with the Agency would be to end up on the wrong side of history." said Lindsay Moran, who left the CIA in 2003 after five years there and later wrote a book about her experiences
President George W. Bush linked Hussein to Al Qaeda, telling Americans that "you can't distinguish between Al Qaeda and Saddam when you talk about the war on terror." These factors were billed as the entire premise of the US going to war.
Taliban gunmen stormed into a Pakistan school Tuesday and killed at least 141 people, most of them children, Taliban spokesman Mohammed Khurasani claimed responsibility for the attack in a phone call to news media, saying six suicide bombers carried out the attack in revenge for the killings of Taliban members by Pakistani authorities.
