LastDayWatchers you will continue to see results from the failures as

Afghan forces fatally shoot 3 NATO troops in Afghanistan

"An Afghan soldier killed two British troops in southern Afghanistan and a member of a U.S.-trained militia turned his weapon on a third NATO troop in the east, officials said, the latest in a string of incidents that have undermined trust between allies.

Since May 2007, at least 80 NATO troops have been killed by Afghan security forces, according to military news releases and statistics provided by the Defense Department to Congress last month. Ten of those killings have happened since the Koran burning.

In testimony to the House Armed Services Committee on Feb. 1, senior defense officials said that “the insider threat is an issue of increasing concern” because “it creates distrust between our forces and their Afghan counterparts during a critical juncture in Afghanistan.”

"We experienced these in Iraq. We experienced them in Vietnam," (two other losing efforts!)

U.S. Marine Gen. John Allen told reporters at the Pentagon on Monday that these types of attacks are characteristic of any warfare involving insurgents.

"On any occasion where you're dealing with an insurgency and where you're also growing an indigenous force ... the enemy's going to do all that they can to disrupt both the counterinsurgency operations" and the developing nation's security forces.Allen said. "On any occasion where you're dealing with an insurgency and where you're also growing an indigenous force ... the enemy's going to do all that they can to disrupt both the counterinsurgency operations" and the developing nation's security forces."

Taliban spokesman Qari Yousef Ahmadi said the shooter was an Afghan soldier who was in close contact with insurgents and had notified the Taliban of his planned attack before carrying it out."

"Both Afghans and internationals looking to smooth over tensions face considerable challenges in winning back many in the general public, whose frustration with the West has reached peak levels after nearly 11 years of having NATO-led troops in their country."

The failures proves to be no more then Pyrrhic Victory

"Relying on sanctions to pressure Iran to relinquish its nuclear ambitions is preferable to the reckless proposals of hawks who seemingly can’t wait to bomb that country."

The odds are that economic pressure will not cause Iran to abandon its nuclear program.

But proponents of sanctions are being too optimistic about the efficacy of their strategy, it is time to start thinking about a “Plan C” to deal with the prospect of a nuclear-armed Iran."
