From the post The Unfaithful Posture and Lawlessness
"And the LORD said to Gideon, "The people are still too many; take them down to the water and I will test them for you there"
"and he of whom I say to you, 'This man shall go with you,' shall go with you; and any of whom I say to you, 'This man shall not go with you,' shall not go."
The May 15th Prophecy explained to you in the previous post that the Lord separated his chosen few out from amongst the unfaithfulness of the many, that you know the way of the Lord
From the 7th book, which is the Book of Judges in the 7th chapter, God started out by getting rid of those who could not overcome their fears in trusting him
"Therefore, tell the people, `Whoever is timid or afraid may leave and go home."
" Twenty-two thousand of them went home, leaving only ten thousand who were willing to fight."
From 32,000 down to 10,000
Which should give you some indication to the numbers of people claiming to warriors for God!
But it get even worse, because even though their was 10,000 claiming not to be afraid
The vast majority of them were unfaithful - like a gung-ho solider who wants to kick ass, but fails to recognize who the enemy is.
Notice how God (not Gideon) judges them base on their posture, by which they drank their water
Those of Faith, were faithfully "watching" & alert as they took their drink (the few/300)
As oppose to
Those of the unfaithful, not watching, no alertness as they took their drink (the many/9,700)
"So he brought down the people unto the water: and Jehovah said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink."
"And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water."
From 10,000 down to just 300
The overlooked important of that, is the significant of the promise placement for Deliverance/Salvation was recorded in
The 7th verse 7th chapter 7th book
"By the three hundred men that lapped (Watched) will I save you"
The set times (feast days), the numbers & names of God make that no coincidence for those of us today.Selah"
