"The Americans will find a delegation representing a regime much empowered by Its success in dominating Lebanon instead of debilitated by sanctions as expected"

Yadlin was not the first to voice concern about Israel's shrinking military edge over its enemies. Uzi Rubin, one of the heads of Israel's missile industry and a father of the Arrow missile interceptor, has warned: "The enemy has achieved aerial supremacy without even having aircraft." He spoke of Syria and Hizballah being allowed to pile up 1,500 surface missiles with guidance systems which are pointed at Tel Aviv"

Lebanon PM seeks Iran support

"Saad al-Hariri has arrived in Tehran for a two-day visit - his first trip to the Islamic Republic since becoming the Lebanese prime minister.

Hours before arriving in the Iranian capital, al-Hariri said Iran had a major role to play in his country, Iran's IRNA news agency reported.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has a natural role in the region, especially in resolving crisis and strengthening stability in Lebanon,"he was quoted as saying."

"Iran’s endorsement of any solution to the Lebanese crisis by Saudi Arabia and Syria is essential for its success"

Hariri underlined the significance of communications between Iran and Arab Gulf states “to find common ground with a view to confronting dangers threatening the two sides.” He said that Lebanon’s relations with Iran are historic"

"Expansion of ties between Iran and Lebanon will definitely strengthen the resistance movement against the Zionist regime"

The two countries, Lebanon and Iran, are also expected to focus on mutual cooperation, following up on 17 agreements signed during Ahmadinejad's visit to Lebanon."

Iraqi premier: No need for US troops after 2011

" Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said Saturday that an agreement requiring U.S. troops to leave by the end of 2011 will stand because Iraqi forces are capable of taking care of the country's security.
The comments are his first on the subject since being tasked with forming a new government after nearly nine months of political deadlock, and some of his strongest to date on what is expected to be a key issue facing the next government.

"The security agreement with what it included of dates and commitments will remain valid, and I do not feel the need for the presence of any other international forces to help Iraqis control the security situation"

American officials have said they will abide by the agreement although they would consider any request by the new Iraqi government to stay longer."

"Without any propaganda and fuss we sealed the cover of the reactor and all the fuel rods are in the core of the reactor"

Iran said Saturday its first atomic power plant built by Russia in Bushehr has begun operations, ahead of a new round of talks with Western powers over the country's controversial nuclear drive."

"will hook up with the national grid in one or two months."

"All fuel assemblies have been loaded into the core of the reactor" and "all we have to do is wait for the water inside the reactor's core to warm gradually, and carry out another series of tests,"

Shiite deal gives militants new Afghan access

"(AP) -- Shiite Muslim militias in Pakistan's tribal regions are helping some of NATOs fiercest enemies evade missile attacks from U.S. drones to cross safely into Afghanistan, a tribal activist told The Associated Press.

The deal underlines the problems of shutting down the Haqqani network's access to its bases in Afghanistan from its refuges in Pakistan.

The Haqqani network is blamed for many of the deadliest attacks on US troops in Afghanistan. Washington has been pressing Pakistan to launch a military operation against the Haqqani network in North Waziristan but so far the military has held back, saying its 140,000 soldiers deployed across the tribal belt are already stretched too thin."
